DOME SHIFT YOUTH ADVOCACY DAY
Each year, hundreds of youth from across Illinois participate in Youth Advocacy Day at the State Capitol. Dome Shift gives students the opportunity to receive training in advocacy and meet state lawmakers to educate them about teen traffic safety issues, distracted driving, cyber bullying and underage drinking prevention.
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) has developed “Mobilizing the Community: Youth Taking the Lead,” (MTC) as an initiative to help school communities to change attitudes and norms that support or encourage underage drinking; promote readiness and efficacy to refrain from or discourage drinking; and reduce self-reported drinking behaviors.
