Illinois SADD is housed at Prevention First, a statewide nonprofit committed to building and supporting healthy drug-free communities through public education, professional training, and effective tools for those working to prevent drug use and related issues such as violence, teen pregnancy and academic failure.
More than 30 years ago, SADD's original mission was to help young people say "NO" to drinking and driving. Today, the mission has expanded. We have learned that positive peer pressure and role models, and environmental strategies can prevent other destructive decisions and set a healthier, safer course for teens' lives.
SADD has become a peer-to-peer education, prevention, and activism organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions. Our mission is to provided students with the best prevention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, risky and impaired driving, and other destructive decisions.
